idk if anyone cares but I don't really have people irl I can talk to about money without it being weird. started in 2020 with like $500 (stimulus check lol) and checked my account last tuesday and it was at 100k and change. honestly thought I'd feel more excited but mostly it just feels like ok, keep going. anyway the thing nobody tells you is the actual moves barely matter? like 80% of mine is just VTI and chill, my "genius" stock picks lost to the index every year, I did the math once and stopped doing it because it was depressing lol.
@bman99 basically the old feed was chronological + trending. chronological was a chronological feed of post filtered based on the people, topics and stocks that you follow. The problem with this is everyone largely sees the same feed (if you follow beginner investors for instance, you’ll see every post in beginner investor). As a result, even if you follow a creator their posts is competing with tons of posts from topics or stocks you follow so it was honestly a pretty shitty feed experience. The new feed changes the chronological pipeline to a personalized pipeline where basically you have weighted affinity scores to different users, stocks, and topics. User to User affinity is weighted highest so follows matter a lot more. Topics will also no longer be fully based on tagged topics but on Blossom categorization of each post into much more granular categories (i.e High Yield ETFs and Dividend Growth Investing were previously both ‘Dividends’ but very different - not to mention a lot of mis-categorization of topics) every interaction on the platform (liking, commenting, bookmarking, clicking into a post will impact your affinity score to different people topics and stocks. You can also impact your affinity score by actions like ‘see less post’ which will be vastly improved and you’ll be able to select - less posts from this user - less posts from this category - less posts about this stock etc. Lot’s of changes as you can see!
